Today is the Munster final.
Max and his team aren’t anxious at all, they feel prepared, they have a plan. A well thought out plan, that they had worked on for the past month.
But unfortunately that plan was based on the presumption that the weather would be good. And the weather today is awful. Rain has been bucketing down for the past few hours and shows no sign of stopping. It will undoubtedly affect every aspect of the game.
Now Max and his team are faced with a dilemma, do they stick with the now completely impractical plan or do they react?
I think they’re best chance of winning the championship is to react. If the plan, no matter how good it was, has become comprehensively irrelevant then you have to bin it.
All that time planning is merely a sunk cost and not a reason to follow it.
The scenario unfolding in the moment takes precedence and they shouldn’t ignore what’s happening.
The team with the most points at the end of the game will determine the winner not the team that spent the most time planning.
