Barbershop dilemma

For the past year I had the perfect set up about every two months or so I would get my haircut at the same barbershop with the same barber and I was happy as Larry.

Now everything’s changed. The barber has left the barbershop and I’m faced with a dilemma. Do I still get my hair cut at the same barbershop?

Yes, the other barbers in there might be very good but they’ve never cut my hair, they don’t know what I like and I’ve never spoken to them.

It would be starting all over again and I had developed a relationship with the recently departed barber. We got on very well and their diligence and high standards meant I never came away disappointed.

So as I contemplate my decision I can’t help but notice that my loyalties lie with the barber and not the barbershop. The person and not the organisation.

The barber was the focal point to everything good about my experience with that barbershop.

My relationship was with the person who took the time to connect not the business.

I would happily follow the barber to whichever barbershop they want to work for.
