Jerry is reading the comments under his latest Youtube video
‘This guy sounds like a tortured goose’
Jerry chuckles to himself and keeps scrolling.
‘This is just blatant plagiarism of Chris Rock’s stand up’
Jerry pauses on this comment and reads it again. He feels his anger starting to boil and he proceeds to carry this comment around with him for the next few days. Every now and then blurting out reasons why he didn’t plagiarise Chris Rock to unsuspecting strangers.
Now I reckon the difference between the two comments was Jerry’s perception.
Jerry was able to brush off the first comment with ease because he saw it as obviously not true. Whether as the second comment hit a nerve with Jerry, most likely because he recognised that it had some merit to it.
I reckon that the comments that affect us most are the ones that we see have some merit to it.
