The school bully is picking on the well built, good looking, most popular guy in school.
That last sentence is made up and won’t ring true for many people.
Bullies don’t pick on the physically intimidating or popular kids. They pick on the weak and socially awkward individuals.
The bully sees these people as the path of least resistance to their goal of dominance.
A bully loves superiority but is also (secretly) a coward so standing up to one, consistently, shows that they will have to look elsewhere for their dominance fix.
