The majority of people will paint themselves the hero of their story.
Not only in their heads but in the story they tell others as well.
It’s quite amusing to hear.
“Everyone else was dumbfounded and then I walked in and solved the problem all by myself in no time at all”
I find that you have to take these stories with a pinch of salt.
These storytellers are most likely fans of the old saying:
Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story.
I also reckon people tell these stories to impress their peers. They need others to think of them as competent.
In my experience the truly secure person doesn’t need to toot their own horn, they know that action speaks louder then words and they’re too busy getting things done.
