Acknowledging it

To pretend it didn’t happen is to bottle it up. And bottled up emotions is more likely to lead to uncontrollable outbursts.

I think it’s much healthier to acknowledge what happened and aim to improve. And I don’t think you even have to acknowledge it to anyone else. You could just say it to yourself:

“Yesterday was a bad day but today I’m going to have another crack off it!”

It’s much easier to acknowledge and act with renewed gusto then to have the constant nagging of am I pretending well enough?
