Tough Mudder videos

It was the second meeting. Tough Mudder is now a month closer.

Everyone had made progress on the physical side but only one (out of 20) had submitted their video.

At the first meeting everyone had agreed that if submitting individual videos explaining why they were participating would greatly help their charitable fund raising efforts.

There was not one comment of disagreement.

And yet it had been a month and only one (the leader) had completed their video.

It’s not like this group aren’t up for a challenge, they are all going to be doing Tough Mudder. They’ve all left their comfort zones and made progress physically in the form of running, yoga or lifting weights.

They are also all capable of talking and recording a video.

So how come only one has completed their video?

I believe they saw the physical exercise as stepping out of their comfort zone but the video was viewed as a departure from their safety zone.

It’s discipline v fear.

Completing the video requires being vulnerable and exposing oneself to judgement.

Judgement.

Potentially the king of all fears!
