Rejection is terrifying when one views it as a humiliating and mortifying consequence.
Rejection is helpful feedback when one views it without personal attachment.
Therefore summoning the courage to apply/ask need not be a monumental effort. It can simply be a change of mindset.
How do you view it without personal attachment?
You prepare yourself beforehand for the worst.
You say to yourself:
“I’m going to give it my best. If it works out happy days and if it doesn’t, then I just wasn’t for right for them. I’ll keep searching til I find someone I’m right for”
That way the rejection is something you take in your stride as you continue the search for the right fit.
