Dietrich hates trivial pursuit, it makes him feel stupid.
He acknowledges that it is only a measure of trivial knowledge and not a true reflection of one’s intelligence but that doesn’t matter.
He’s still feels dumb in front of his peers.
Julian beside him has been playing trivial pursuit longer and has become more accustomed to this feeling of stupidity. He admits immediately if he doesn’t know the answer and throws out a guess without hesitation.
Losing trivial pursuit for Dietrich means moping around the house for the rest of the day but for Julian he gives a Gallic shrug and moves on.
It’s just a game to Julian but for Dietrich it’s a chance to prove himself to his friends and family.
