When feeling particularly indecisive I’ve found that the simple act of fleshing out one’s options verbally with another can be extremely useful.
In your head it all sounds so logical but to hear it out loud, to hear it repeated back to you, it can sound quite silly and a winning option might become clear.
I think it works for two reasons.
1) By saying it out loud you are exposing it to the world and another human being who is capable of judging. The threat of judgement can expedite the process greatly.
2) Because it is helpful to have another brain on the case. A brain that isn’t feeling the fear and can look at the situation objectively.
