Yet

The word yet should not be underestimated, especially in the realm of goal setting.

The deadline has come November 16th 2020 and you are not a millionaire. Upon reflection you see how ambitious it was of you to write that goal five years ago.

I’m not a millionaire…yet!

Adding yet to that statement puts self pity on hold and exclaims exuberantly that it’s not over til I say it’s over.

Yet is Doc Brown at the end of Back to the Future pulling Marty into another wild adventure.

“Where we’re going we don’t need roads”

Yet is telling the overweight soprano (opera kind, not gangster kind) to wait.

Yet is bracing to enter the breach once more.

Just because you failed to reach the goal today doesn’t mean you’ll never reach it.
