Negativity immune system

“Every day, stand guard at the door of your mind” Jim Rohn

I think it’s only natural to run to someone’s aid when they’re going through a tough time.

I think the majority of people will feel obliged to help. To lend a sympathetic ear, to become the outlet as the person in pain vents their frustration.

I think helping others is a noble act. I also think that no one is impervious to negativity.

If wave after wave of complaints, criticisms, and cynicism crash against the door of your mind eventually it’s going to seep in.

I think the goal here would not be to stop helping others but to mentally prepare oneself.

To prime yourself beforehand, mentally distance yourself during, and practice gratitude afterwards.

I think these measures would keep your optimism intact, your outlook untainted and your positivity unsullied.

I like to think of it as boosting your negativity immune system!
