Recently I read two self help books. Both written by experts, both with very different strategies.
The first book was more like an instruction manual. The master listed the tactics that worked well for him and recommended them to the reader.
The second book did not recommend any tactics, instead it looked to serve as a call to action.
The author wanted to get under the reader’s skin. The content didn’t specify what to do but implored you to act.
I think the second author deliberately avoided outlining tactics came from the assertion that there is no such thing as a ‘one size fits all approach’. That it would be more productive to insist on action rather than discussing tactics.
Two contrasting strategies that made for two very different approaches.
