At what point should an alcoholic make a lifestyle change?
When they end up in a ditch?
When they can’t remember a week?
When they start puking up blood?
I daresay the prospect of change crosses their mind at all these points but why don’t they go through with it?
To try and see the other side of the coin, maybe the old habits are too hard to break?
Maybe their identity has been wrapped up in the addiction? If I’m not Alcoholic Al then who am I?
The change will be more difficult for some than others but I don’t think it’s impossible.
There have been alcoholics in dire conditions that have made full recoveries.
I think if the change is important enough to you, you can find a way.
After all there happy people in this world who aren’t alcoholics – how do they do it?
