Silent Dirk

‘Great job today! Thanks for the hard work! Amazing session today, thanks so much!’

Without a sarcastic tone all three of these comments are easily labelled positive.

But what about non verbal feedback?

I can tell Ciara liked the activities because she came up to me and told me they were fantastic but what about Dirk?

Dirk doesn’t talk much and so his enjoyment is harder to gauge.

I’m no Pro in this area but I think in the case of Dirk you can take his silence as a positive sign.

Not everyone will be expressive as Ciara and Dirk’s lack of negative comments, disruption or acting out can be taken as a positive sign.

And this positive spin could prevent an obsession with trying to please someone who is completely satisfied but just not that expressive.
