I didn’t financially plan well for one of my holidays and it was terrible.
I couldn’t enjoy myself.
It didn’t matter how beautiful the scenery was, it couldn’t make up for the mounting anxiety inside me.
The possibility of going broke before the end of the holiday dogged my thoughts constantly.
It was paralysis in paradise.
I think the same is true for creativity.
For me anyway.
You might revel in the high stakes pressure but for me a day job means creative freedom.
It means I don’t have to compromise in a desperate attempt to make a sale.
It means less attachment to outcomes and more trust in the process.
So, in that sense, paradoxically, a mind numbing job doing data entry all day could boost someone’s creativity!
