I think one of the best things a sports coach or professional mentor can do is instil confidence.
All of the training exercises should, in my opinion, be geared towards breaking limiting self beliefs.
Coaches should sense doubt and set stretch goals to prove to the student they are capable.
I think if it’s too easy they won’t engage but if the students regularly surprise themselves with achieving goals they previously thought outside their reach confidence will naturally build.
Therefore when it comes to clutch moments the players/executives won’t shy away but rise to the challenge.
