A flawed driver

After passing my driving test and quicker than I’m proud of, I developed bad habits.

I have been speaking English for roughly 26 years and yet my diction is not perfect. I often mumble or mispronounce words.

I learned to write when I was a young child and frequently my peers will label my handwriting illegible.

In each case, I reached a certain ‘good enough’ level and after that complacency creeped in.

That’s the thing with practice, not all of it is created equal.

It’s not a matter of simply logging 10,000 hours, it’s a case of how deliberate and conscious each one of those hours was.
