Great so I can expect the ad in my inbox on Monday morning?
Oh no it’s going to be another week.
What! Why?
Oh the Mise en scene wasn’t right.
What’s a Mise…
Yeah so we’ll have to do pick ups next week and that’ll push back post production.
Look I don’t know what pick ups are but she looked fine, it was perfect, let’s just use it as it is.
No we watched the dailies and she’s looking down at the camera.
What’s a daily and what does it matter if she’s looking down at the camera?
…
For a non creative and a creative to successfully produce a piece together I think they both have to meet in the middle.
The client has to be expressive and descriptive enough so the artist can understand what they want and the artist has to leave the jargon at home and use language the client will understand.
Whilst both of them speak in their own terms and make no efforts to be understood, frustration will bloom and burn the project to the ground.
