Desperation forcing faith

‘Hang on, I’ve got to go protect my WordPress streak!’

The witnessing of progress can be crucial to the continued engagement of a student.

No wonder there is so much gamification around us these days!

But what about skills where it could take years for noticeable change to surface?

How do the sceptical students keep the faith in those endeavours?

I think it comes to a desperation that forces faith, that they’ve tried everything else and they are at a point of no return.

As Trinity says to Neo when he’s contemplating walking out:

‘Please Neo, you have to trust me.’

‘Why?’

‘Because you have been down there Neo. You know that road. You know exactly where it ends and I know that’s not where you want to be.’
