I think one of the keys to creative productivity is being comfortable with ‘good enough’.
If you can handle publishing an imperfect piece, you will be an efficient artist.
If you’re more concerned with creating a flawless product rather than hitting the deadline, you will never hit the deadline. Because there will always be something you can make just a little bit better.
Perfecting is the biggest drain of time.
It requires enormous amounts of time and produces miniscule improvements.
Also it’s not necessary for success.
Audiences do not go:
‘I found a misspelling in the end credits of the movie that renders it void and unlikable’
In fact, the first Star Wars film had an obvious blooper in it’s final cinema cut.
And the gaff didn’t stop the movie becoming a pop culture phenomenon!
