For a recent video I recorded, my perfectionist tendencies were riding me hard.
I think the time pressure got to me and I got nervous.
So I kept doing more takes.
Another take on that topic, another take on this topic.
Eventually I lay down exhausted and had to pick 5 videos from a total of 14.
It was a laborious task.
The videos were very similar, I wasn’t saying much different in any of them.
But after the review I looked down at my sheet of paper that I was using to keep track of the videos I watched and the videos I was picking and low and behold it was the last takes of each section that I ended up thinking was the best.
Now at the risk of repeating conventional wisdom, the morale of the moment for me was – the more you practice the better you get.
And that’s my blog post for today.
A tiny example of how effort can triumph over preconceived notions of weaknesses.
