‘This is America’ is not your run of the mill music video.
It appears to be rich with symbolism. Symbolism that has the online forums hopping with speculation.
Then finally enough intrigue surrounding this music video resulted in an interviewer asking Childish Gambino what it all meant.
To which he declined to answer.
Which I think was shrewd of him because his reaction kicked the intrigue levels into overdrive.
As long as there is some mystery, as long as we don’t know for certain we remain hooked.
