Creative process guarantees

The creative process is disappointing in the realm of certainty.

It seems each individual has their own unique process and just when you think surely a divine setting is a guarantee of creative inspiration you stumble across a quote like the one from Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi:

“Unfortunately there is no evidence – and probably there never will be to prove that a delightful setting induces creativity“

It appears ‘to each their own‘ is the guideline.

If you believe walking is key to your creative process then you’re probably right.

If you think driving alone at night stimulates your innovative insights then I daresay you are correct.

So maybe it’s best to stop searching for guarantees and start customising a process that suits you.
