One thing I find admirable about creative individuals is their ability to create a career for themselves.
Take the Wright brothers for example.
They didn’t reply to a job advert for Aeronautical Engineers.
They created the job title Aeronautical Engineer.
There was no such position before them.
Or to come at it from another angle, where are the corporate jobs for influencers?
What corporation pays Joanne McNally’s salary?
It’s not like Spotify found the audience, earned their trust, subscribed them to a podcast, and then asked Joanne to slot in as star presenter.
These individuals saw the job openings on LinkedIn as options not restrictions.
They navigated the murky waters outside traditional jobs and carved out a salary for themselves doing what they love.
