I think Schadenfreude is bad.
People who are quick to laugh at others misfortune should be ashamed.
But I’d like to seperate out a nuance that often gets lumped in with Schadenfreude.
That is, the delight at your faith in justice being renewed.
Poor lil Timmy losing his dog to cancer shouldn’t bring joy to your heart.
But someone who acted cruelly to you and got away with it, getting their comeuppance – I think we’re allowed to revel in that.
