Wilko’s not wallowing

This is arguably the most iconic moment in Rugby.

Jonny Wilkinson at the tender age of 24 steps up to slot a drop goal off his weaker foot to win England their first and only mens world cup with seconds left in extra time.

But what I think makes it even cooler is that he had actually missed two drop goals earlier in the game.

Nobody seems to mention that.

Had Jonny been consumed by his earlier mistakes he definitely would have missed this crucial attempt and history would have been different.

Which brings me on to my point that the greats weren’t great because they never made mistakes, they were great because they figured out how to learn from them and leave them in the past.
