I think staycations are the lowest rung of the holiday ladder simply because you don’t get a full break from your daily chores.
With a hotel room you don’t have to clean up after yourself.
With a self catering apartment you don’t have to worry about fixing the skirting boards.
Furthermore you’re not reminded of all the adult decisions and problems around your house.
