I think if Kerry had won that all Ireland today it would have timidly moved the emotional needle down in Killarney.
It’s because it’s the expected norm and the standard the fans hold the team to.
Which is why they’re so great.
But it’s great for the game and for humanity for Mayo to win it.
75 years waiting and the curse broken.
The pure joy that oozed out of the fans was infectious.
Kerry have won it so often I dare say that don’t fully appreciate how special claiming Sam Maguire can be.
