It’s funny when I walked past the tourist shops in Dublin I would shake my head and wonder why anyone would buy any of it.
Transport me to Hong Kong, place me in a souvenir shop with money in my pocket and all of a sudden my basket is full.
To hazard a guess at what happened, I think to the locals, the products on offer are so common and boring it has no hold over them.
But to the tourists, particularly those from far enough away it screams exotic and the voice in their head says – Ah go on, when will be here again?
