When I was in secondary school it was repeatedly hammered into me how special it was to play rugby for my school. And I drunk the Kool aid. I was sold. It felt like the biggest honour in my life getting to represent my school on the rugby pitch. Since then I've lived a bit … Continue reading Special cause →

https://youtube.com/shorts/A8tVgLNWHYM?si=UEvMIhtui2mOOd0M This is Darcy Graham, he's a Scottish winger who is limping off the pitch after just 16 minutes. And you might ask why is he crying? Why does Finn Russell feel the need to come over and console him? Some writers dubbed that game as a dead rubber, as a blatant money making scheme, and … Continue reading Darcy’s devastated →

"Tabatha, what's going on with that chap over there?" Richard pointed in the direction of a young man on the edge of the dancefloor who seemed to be having a tiny seizure. "Ah that's Tyreek. Is it any coincidence that Jodie (no relation to Jodie Foster) replies to the easy questions and not to the hard ones? Talk about an avoidant personality. The trick has become to only ask one hard question at a time. Don't give her an out by asking 2 hard questions and 1 easy question because … Continue reading Avoid hard answer easy →

I love the team aspect of F1 the film. In a sport where all the credit may go to the individual it reaffirmed the contribution of the entire team. A healthy reminder that we don't get there on our own.

Then I noticed a tattoo, and with few other options, I asked about it. Low and behold it led to … Continue reading Tattoo story →

I think one mistake the over enthusiastic teacher makes is to throw all the insights at the student at once. Which of course overwhelms them, scares them, and makes them feel stupid. I think the experienced teacher knows the benefit of spoon-feeding and showing a progression plan. They break it down into stages as they … Continue reading Enthusiastic teacher →

Anger, it starts with one. One who may actually have control over it but we've never seen them exercise it. They seem to default to it and let it run free. Then if left to continue, the anger riles up the next in line. Who equates losing with being flayed alive and becomes an intolerable … Continue reading The anger wildfire →

Wouldn't it be funny if relationships had an expiration date? Like one would say to the other we've reached the max allowed time together we must now never interact again and find new friends. It would be as formal as an employment contract ending. The project is over, we shall go our separate ways now. … Continue reading Relationship investment →
