If you were financially set for life would you still aim to improve yourself? Would you still be motivated to perfect yourself?
Do you really love the work? If money were no object would you still do it?
Security can be a huge source of motivation for people, but when that’s safely taken care of what do you aim for?
I listened to an interview recently of a business man who founded a company that went on to become massive and earn him billions and he is just so out of touch. The interview was awkward, he kept humming and hawwing. He didn’t properly answer the questions and when he did, he did so in such a vague manner you thought does he really know what he’s talking about?
You could tell that he hadn’t been near an office in ages, he didn’t know the company’s policies at all.
But can you blame him? He’s filthy rich, he’ll never have to work a day in his life, does he care that he gives a terrible interview?
I highly doubt it.
Which in my mind raises the question would you care what other people think if you’re financially set for life?
