When competitiveness ruins fun.

In the heat of the moment it’s very easy for the competitive spirit to come out, especially in a tight game. But nobody likes it when the game, that was just supposed to be a bit of fun, gets out of hand. Everybody playing is an amateur and nobody has any aspirations for a career in this area. They’re just playing for fun. The outcome will not change any league tables or knock anybody out and yet someone has raised the stakes in their head to world cup final level.
Then again some of the most memorable games are the ones that went down to the wire. There’s a fine line between making it exciting and losing your cool. People love the excitement and hate anger creeping in.
When the intensity of the game reaches its zenith, practice some mindfulness and remember the purpose of the game.
