Just be in the moment

I always found this very frustrating advice.

You know you’re not in the moment when you have to say be in the moment and the more not present you are the more frustrated you get. It’s a vicious cycle really.

But I heard recently a great way to counteract this that’s worked wonders for me. Instead of repeating to yourself be in the moment, you practice noticing things.

Like what does your fingers feel, what are the different colours around you. What does it smell like here?

Focusing on the external present helps to keep you in the moment and out of your own head.

Just a cool trick that worked for me anyway. It could work for you.
