She spent all that money and didn’t even enjoy herself.
I was at a birthday party recently where there was a black tie dress code, free drink, 3 DJ’s, luxury portapotties and catering by a well known gourmet restaurant.
It was clear money was no object for this occasion.
This set up blew every other birthday party out of the water.
Yet, the birthday girl didn’t enjoy herself.
So why did they spend so much money on this party?
Because this party truthfully wasn’t about enjoying the night. It was about status. It was about becoming talked about. It was an attempt to be associated with having the most extravagant birthday anyone has ever had. In that sense it was a success but it seems such a shame to spend all that money and not enjoy yourself.
