I saw a clip recently of someone describing the abuse they received as a child and I don’t know which was scarier. What he was saying or the matter of fact tone of voice he used to describe it.
The lack of emotion in the storytelling made these horrific acts seem run of the mill and this normalization is probably the most terrifying thing about it.
