Bert wants some of Margaret’s meal but doesn’t want to ask straight out because that would be too obvious and direct for him. Instead he goes for the subtler:
‘Oh that looks tasty’
Margaret, wise to Bert’s ways, replies without looking up:
‘It is’
Don’t be like Bert folks be honest and direct.
