That’s Ron’s phone vibrating, it’s just received a message. Ron shouldn’t read it right now but how long can he resist?
One minute? Two minutes?
Ron speculates whether he could get away with a subtle rapid glance but it’s too risky. His thoughts turn to the borderline insane as he tries to distinguish the nuance in a vibration.
‘Oh that’s definitely a group chat message right there’
BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ
The vibrations start to come in thick and fast giving Ron an impression of urgency and increasing the likelihood of him checking his phone.
This volume of messages in quick succession could indicate a serious emergency or worse… craic that he’s missing out on!
DUN DUN DUN!!
Now Ron could avoid all this mental torment by putting his phone on airplane mode while he can’t respond but where’s the fun in that?
