Guggenheim

I’d say that the majority of the photos taken at the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao are of the outside of the building.

All the paintings inside can’t contend with the exterior design of the museum.

It’s unique to say the least.

It’s clear that the designer took a risk, a risk that not everyone would like it. A design that would divide people into strong opinions, you either love or hate it.

You could measure the success of the design by the hordes of tourists that flock to it.

It is nearly impossible to walk past and not take a picture.

Now just across the river and directly level with the Guggenheim are some apartment buildings.

They are brown, bland and boring. Nobody is taking pictures of them.

We’ve seen that design a thousand times and it’s not worth a picture.
