Owning the situation

The flight was delayed.

The underground trains weren’t working.

The taxi man got lost.

The group are frustrated and tired and start to wonder what else could possibly go wrong?

But then they start to see the funny side of the situation. They start to make jokes about how horribly wrong it’s all going and speculate what’s going to go wrong next. And just like that the mood changes.

The mindset shifts from being victims of unfortunate circumstances to owning the situation and enjoying the ride.

Any bad luck after that point did not compound the frustration, it only added to the hilarity of the situation.
