When I stepped out of my first viewing of ‘The Force Awakens’ (Star Wars episode 7) I immediately googled the release date of the eighth episode.
“Oh my god, why is it going to take so long?”
I was devastated to see it was at least two years away. Devastated because I needed to know who’s Rey’s parents were now!
I couldn’t comprehend why the 8th movie couldn’t be out sooner.
Then I started making my own short films and now I completely understand. Movie making requires a lot of time and effort.
The experience provided a great lesson in empathy which fostered patience and that is the point I’d like to make with this blog post.
Empathy feeds patience.
It’s easier to set expectations when you know how arduous the task is.
