The timid Death Star intern couldn’t find his teammates to help him with his work problem.
But fortunately the intern bumped into the big dog, the head honcho, the shot caller… Darth Vader.
The intern thinks to himself, ‘oh perhaps Mr. Vader would be able to help me with this problem’.
Darth happens to be in a good mood and so he humours the young trembling intern.
‘Emm Mr. Vader sir, emm …do you know how to fix a blaster?’
Vader’s good mood evaporates immediately and he roars:
‘You don’t know how to fix a blaster?!?’
The intern sensed that underneath the mask there was a horrified look, to match the horrified tone, on Mr. Vader’s face.
‘I find your lack of experience disturbing! What is your manager’s name?’ Vader snapped as he stepped closer and towered over the intern.
‘Tobias Groundrunner sir’ squeaked the intern.
‘Well I will be having a word with Mr. Groundrunner about the incompetence of his staff!’ Vader shouted as he strode off, his cape billowing in his wake.
The poor Death Star intern ran to the toilet as quickly as he could trying his best to hide the tears running down his face.
It was at this moment, facing his teary reflection in the bathroom mirror, that the intern vowed never to ask for help again.
The way I see it, in this situation, you can react like Darth or like Yoda.
Darth would make you feel bad for asking for help. If you revealed inexperience Darth would make you fear for your job.
Yoda on the other hand would welcome all questions, he would take the time to guide, direct and teach you what you don’t know.
