Convoluted workarounds

‘Why are you guys writing the reports by hand?’

‘The CEO likes handwritten updates’

‘But it’s the 21st century?’

How much time and energy do you spend catering to stubbornness?

Someone has taken a stand against changing. They’re set in their ways and they’re not learning something new so you have to come up with some convoluted work around just to keep them happy/involved because they are the only ones not changing.

Or…

You leave them out.

You say to them, if you want to play this game, you’ve got to get with the times.

It’s basically boils down to who’s going to do the work? You to cater or them to learn?

I think the second option will be less popular because it requires bravery. The bravery to stand up to someone else and say:

‘I’m not entertaining this’
