Lambasting the manager

The captain is leading the lambasting of the manager. It started with just a few players but now everyone is chipping in and piling on the manager.

It’s all coming out now. All 6 months of repressed anger and bitterness.

The question is, where was all this resistance when the manager first proposed his unorthodox strategies?

Why didn’t the captain voice his reservations when the manager first started talking about playing with no goalkeeper?

Why hadn’t the team expressed their disagreement when the manager named his first team with only ten players?

The built up rage is exploding out of each player now but ultimately it’s too late, the team is doomed to relegation.

How many teams, organisations and companies have been run into the ground because nobody spoke up against the leader?

I think this situation comes about because in the beginning it’s only natural for each team to give a new manager some leeway, some space to implement their philosophies and work through the new changes.

I think the players don’t speak up earlier because they’re afraid. Afraid of disagreeing with the person in charge of their paycheck.

Having said that I think a way to avoid this chaotic ending is to show curiosity.

Ask the manager to explain their reasoning.

Then if you don’t agree or the manager pulls rank and doesn’t explain themselves then maybe it’s time to move on, rather than watch your team be run into the ground.
