Unsolicited advice or unrequested involvement can be extremely frustrating for the receiver.
The way I see it, you don’t have to listen to advice you ask for, so you certainly don’t have to listen to advice you didn’t ask for.
As frustrating as it can be to hear, I don’t think there is malicious intent behind it, I think they’ve just made a mistake in assuming you want their help.
They have skipped the prerequisite ‘Cry for help’ stage and rushed straight to the ‘Save the day’ stage.
It’s probably not a vote of no confidence in your ability but an old habit seizing the wheel.
