Every month Bertie has to fill out a report and he hates doing it. He has such a small window to write the update that it causes him so much stress.
He has to consolidate information from many locations and come up with decent commentary all in a matter of hours.
Usually Bertie has to take a day off after writing the report simply to catch up on the sleep lost in the lead up.
Then a few days before the report was due, Frank, Bertie’s colleague, asked Bertie:
“Is there anything you can do now to minimise stress later?”
And with one simple question, Bertie realised that the majority of the stress associated with this report was avoidable. He didn’t have to leave it to the ‘day of’ to do everything, in fact a lot could be done in the lead up.
Bertie bought Frank the biggest box of chocolates he could find.
