In marketing there is often talk of a customer’s pain point. It is the reason someone will throw money at a solution.
For example commuting via public transport takes too long so one buys a car to save time and avoid frustration.
Or it’s only when you get locked out of your house that you search for a locksmith.
Need first, then buy product.
But what about those who find needs to support their buying habits?
Those who buy first then find reasons to justify their purchase.
Like the guy who buys suits then searches for occasions to flaunt his new attire.
Humans are dependably irrational and need first expenditure is too logical to explain every purchase.
