ISTJ careers

Jonesy, not knowing what to do with his life, took a personality test.

He found out he was an ISTJ and the careers suited for ISTJ’s are business analysts, supply chain managers, certified public accountants, dentists, bank tellers, military officers and inspectors.

Jonesy read this and thought to himself:

‘But I don’t want to be any of those things!’

I think the characteristics that make Jonesy an ISTJ, the below, can be applied to any job.

Decisive, Detail oriented, Honest, Logical, Objective, Organized, Persistent, Practical, Productive, Rational, Reliable, Responsible

I think Jonesy shouldn’t feel obligated to follow the aforementioned careers because I think these qualities transcend industries and job types.

I can’t see any employer not wanting a candidate with these traits.

Jonesy read on to find that the article outlined unsuitable careers for ISTJs too. Namely creative pursuits.

But what about Robert De Niro, or Julia Roberts or Denzel Washington? All ISTJs according to this website.

I think, Jonesy, if you put your mind to it, you can do anything!

Creative pursuits may be more uncomfortable to you than most but it can be done. You can play to your strengths. There is room for practical persistent and productive creatives as well.
