Yesterday I heard for the first time,
The delightful verse and rhyme,
Of ‘Oh the places you’ll go’,
It was quite the show.
The wonderful Dr. Seuss,
Kicked me in the caboose,
And despite being tired,
I felt inspired,
To take a stab,
Without being drab.
So what would I advise?
So you may avoid demise?
Courage simply,
Even for the pimply.
For fear,
My dear,
Is ubiquitous,
And always with us.
Fear is something to befriend,
To the bitter sweet end.
It’s a dance,
The only dance.
Sometimes you should lead,
And some warnings you should heed.
Rejection doesn’t equal mortal danger – fear is lying,
But listen to fear when facing a hungry lion.
The comfort zone is a funny thing,
It rarely is a perfect ring,
But the more you leave it, the wider it gets,
And never departing leads to mountains of regrets.
So there you go,
Now you know,
What I would say,
In a speech today.
Fear tells me it’s crap,
And I’ll never have a career in rap.
That might be true,
But it’s not time I rue.
For I have never yet,
Come to regret.
The feeling of life,
When courage is rife.
