Is it any coincidence that your productivity increases tenfold the day before you go on holiday?
I don’t think so.
I think what happens is you run out of ‘stalling’ time.
With a holiday looming there is no more room to avoid those annoying tasks you’ve been consistently pushing back.
The urgency of the deadline demands that they be finished today.
And so you find a way and you get your whole to do list completed.
What’s interesting (I find) is that the presence of the holiday provided you with a glimpse into your productivity potential and you can use this to your advantage.
You can create imaginary holidays and self imposed deadlines so that you don’t have to take time off to get peace of mind.
